Life Story of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh

Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh was born as the third son of of Raja Ghanshiam Singh Bahadur of Mursan in the Aligarh District of the United Provinces of Agra and Oudh.The title of Raja Bahadur was conferred by the Moghul emperors on the head of the family.As the British appeared in the beginning of the 19th century the state opposed them.A war occured and the state was defeated.The chief was left in the control of a couple of hundred villages but he lost the ruling power.The title of Raja Bahadur was recognized and is still continuing in the family.When he was just 3 years old,he was adopted by Raja Harnarain singh Sahib of Hathras.This family also fought against the Britishers but lost the principality in1818.Maharaja of Hathras Raja Dayaram (Grandfather of Raja Harnarain Singh) fled to central India.His son helped the Britishduring the”Sepoy mutiny”of 1857.As a reward to his unpatriotic services he got the title of Raja and somevillages inAligarh,Mathura and Bulendsher districts.He died before he could enjoy his estate.Tradition says he died a broken heart.He hoped that his ancestral state of Hathras would be restored to him,but he got only a few villages.His widow adopted Raja Harnarain Singh who in turn adopted RajaMahendra Pratap Singh.


Childhood As a child he was very much love by his young adoptive father. He spend his childhood days in the Vrindavan palace.He started his education in 1895 in M.A.O school in Aligarh when he was 8 years old. He lived a life of a rich prince. He was not fascinated by the wealth and his status of him being the future king. He always had a special place in his heart for the common man. He also had this desire to fight against the Britishers for the freedom of his native land. He was married during his college life his wife Maharani Balbir Kaur from the Jind estate of Punjab During his college days Dadaji travelled in India consecutively in 1904, 1905 and 1906 with his brother Kw.Baldeo Singh. They visited all the states of India from Kashmir to Madras and from Bombay to Assam. So he had a good exposure to different places of India. In 1907 he travelled all around the world with his wife for a period of nearly a year. Being in such countries he realized that these countries were developed and economically sound because of modern education and technology. When he came back to India he donated his Vrindavan palace to start the first polytechnic (PMV) in India in 1909 where student could study and learn specialized courses.


In 1914 Dadaji left India to seek help from other countries to achieve freedom for his mother land. First he reached Germany where he was greeted by the German chancellor Kaiser then he left for Afghanistan in where he met his friend king of Afghanistan, Amir. With their help he formed the first Govt. of India known as the Gaddar party which achieved the recoginition of countries like Russia,Germany,USA,Turkey and several others but not the Indian kings as they were happy serving the Britshers and in return getting there feudal rights from them.


He believed and formed the religion of love known as Prem Dharam. This religion recognizes all the other religions and opposes any kind of discrimination of caste,color,inequality of any kind. It only encourages love and care for all the beings of the world. Dadaji had a special relation with the muslim leader and he visited temples,mosques,gurudwaras,church. Dadaji being a hindu studied in a muslim university, married a girl from sikh family and that’s why he was named Peter Peer Pratap which shows an amalgation of christian,muslim and hindu religion.


He formed the world federation which believes the world to be one country having a center and does not believe in countries forming their boundries and restricting free movement of men and others. The united nations organisation is also based on world federation’s system and also had taken written material from the world federation to run their organisation.

pmv2It was founded on May 24th 1909 by Raja mahendra Pratap singh. He converted his own residence into a technical school which stood beautifully on the bank of river Yamuna in the holy land of Vrindavan. PMV was one of its own kind and one of the first polytechnic institution in India. More
